Thomasina Valentine

Thomasina earned the following degrees: B.S. degree in Business Management from Hampton University on time while completing a 12-month co-op with Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies in Pennsylvania and subsequently working for them in New Jersey upon graduation; M.S. degree in Human Resource Management from Troy State University; M.Div. degree in Theology from STVU at Virginia Union University with a Pastoral Care Specialist Certificate while enrolled in a Dual Program M.S. degree in Patient Counseling from Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University; and M.S. degree in Professional Rehabilitation Counseling same school.

She received an independent License in Professional Counseling in Virginia in December 2011 and became an Approved Clinical Supervisor in March 2014 & refreshed it in October 2024. By December 2025, she plans to complete the requirements for the independent License in Marriage & Family Therapy. She has served in the U.S. Army Reserves, completed four (4) Clinical Pastoral Education units, and completed Employee Assistance Program (EAP) advisory hours.

With nearly 35 years of counseling in church, community, corporate, hospitals, integrated primary care, jails, private practice, adjunct teaching, and more recently in the Independent Consulting contexts, inclusive of the 16-years as a corporate Human Resources/Diversity Manager, Thomasina has demonstrated that her ministry is not limited to a pulpit on Sunday morning, Wednesday at noon or 7pm or for a Women’s conference, as a credentialed minister, who preached her initial sermon, “Full Circle in God’s Appointed Time,” Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 on July 8, 2001.

Outside of her professional pursuits, Christine is a devoted wife to Khalid and a proud mother to six children, residing in Silver Spring, Maryland. Her return to VOACC on December 18, 2023, marks a new chapter in her journey with our organization, where she will continue to make a significant impact in our mission and ministry.
