Pastor Darrell Townsend is a native of Southeastern, Virginia, and has been married to his lovely wife, Kim, for more than 38 years.  He holds a B.A. Degree in labor studies and attended Tabernacle Baptist Bible College in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He serves as the Chief External Connect Officer for Zion Church over multiple campuses in both Maryland and Virginia.

He is passionate about the things of Christ and annually equips and leads teams on short-term mission trips to Haiti, Kenya, and the Dominican Republic.   Having led teams on more than 40 mission trips over the years gives him a unique perspective on the global church.   In his leisure time, he enjoys reading, playing board games, and cards; and taking in a good movie.
