People of Faith Bridging The Gap
ABOUT
Bridging the Gap is inspired by a call rooted in faith, spirituality, and a shared commitment to community. As concerned citizens, students, advocates, business leaders, government officials, and individuals of various faith traditions and beliefs, we recognize the urgent need to come together—to stand up in body or spirit, to speak out, and to serve as a bridge in the Tidewater region. For those inspired by scripture, Ezekiel 22:30 says, “I searched for someone to stand in the gap.” We believe that someone is us.
Through faith, moral conviction, and a commitment to justice, the responsibility of bridging the gap is ours to bear together. The six gaps we aim to address are access to services, mental health and substance use disorders (SUD), violence, human trafficking, isms/othering within faith communities, and generational divides.
