Placing Veterans on a Path toHealing & wellbeing for our nations heroes and their families

About

The Staff Sergeant Parker Gordon Fox Suicide Prevention Program (SSG Fox SPGP) is a community-based outreach and prevention program operated by Volunteers of America Chesapeake & Carolinas. The program is designed to reduce suicide risk and improve mental health and wellbeing for veterans and their families in need. Funded through the Veterans Administration (VA), the SSG Fox SPGP was named in honor of Veteran Parker Gordon Fox, a former sniper instructor for the U.S. Army Infantry School at Ft. Benning, GA. Fox died of suicide on July 21, 2020 at the age of 25. His experience and life of generosity and kindness to others inspired the launch of the program in support of our nation’s heroes.
